Melissa Powery serves as Financial Controller at OfReg and has responsibility for its financial reporting and accounting functions which include the preparation and management of the Office’s budget, preparation of the management accounts and audited financial statements, and policy development and implementation.

Melissa has over 15 years of private sector experience with responsibilities spanning audit, financial reporting, and financial management. Prior to joining OfReg, Melissa worked in the utility industry for almost 10 years, where she progressed to senior management and was instrumental in developing and implementing rate-regulated accounting mechanisms. She has extensive experience preparing financial statements under Canadian and United States Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting (IFRS).Melissa is a Certified Public Accountant, a Chartered Global Management Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Accounting degree from Florida International University.
