Notice Of Compliance For The Industrial) Scientific and Medical Radio Band ('IBM')
This notice applies to the Utility Regulation and Competition Office (the 'Office') Information and Communications Technology Licensees ('Licensees') as defined by section 2 of the Information and Communications Technology Law (2019 Revision) ('ICT Law'); and in recognition of the section 23(2) of the ICT Law.

NOTICE OF COMPLIANCE for the
Industrial) Scientific and Medical Radio Band ('IBM')
THIS NOTICE APPLIES to the Utility Regulation and Competition Office (the 'Office') Information and Communications Technology Licensees ('Licensees') as defined by section 2 of the Information and Communications Technology Law (2019 Revision) ('ICT Law'); and in recognition of the section 23(2) of the ICT Law.
The Office wishes to remind said Licensees that the use of Industrial, Scientific and Medical Radio Bands (ISM Bands) as defined in the Office Regulatory Notice of 20 November 2017 in Annex 2 for commercial3 use requires a Licence.
To maintain hannonisation within Region 2 for Radio Frequency (RF) transmission, the use of the unlicensed spectrum, is subject to the following basic compliance protocols;
- mitations of the maximum transmission power and the maximum power spectrum density (PSD)
- Use indoor only or use both indoor and outdoor
- Dynamic Frequency Selection (DFS).
- Listen-Before-Talk (LBT).
- Transmission Power Control (TPC).
The Office also wishes to remind said Licensees that the use of ISM Bands is subject to The Information and Communications Technology Authority (Interference and Equipment Standardization) Regulations, 2004 .
ENFORCEMENT ACTIONS BY THE OFFICE - Notwithstanding actions noted above, following this Notice, the Office will commence formal enforcement actions with each non-compliant Licensee, as provided for in the ICT Law and the Utility Regulation and Competition Law (2019 Revision.
