Christen Suckoo
CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER
Christen Suckoo has worked in the Cayman Islands Civil Service and now Public Service for over 20 years. He began his career in Risk Management and has held several roles such as Policy Analyst in the Cabinet Office and was instrumental in the Constitutional Modernisation Initiative which brought about Cayman’s current Constitution, as the Deputy Director of the Constitutional Review Secretariat.

Christen served as the Deputy Chief Officer in the Ministry of Education with responsibility for Finance, Administration, Labour, Gender Affairs, Schools Expansion Projects and Special Units from 2009 to 2014. He subsequently served as the Chief Officer in the Ministry from 2014 to 2018with full responsibility for all its portfolios. Notable achievements include the significant update and strengthening of the National Pensions Act, introduction of the Education Act, establishment of the National Minimum Wage, Extension of the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms for Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW) to the Cayman Islands, completion of the Clifton Hunter High School and John Gray High School Gym as well as several Primary School expansion and community walking track projects. In his role at OfReg Christen assists the CEO with providing leadership, management, and vision necessary to ensure that the Utility Regulation & Competition Office has the proper operational controls, administrative and reporting procedures. This work includes oversight of OfReg's day-to-day operational functions and establishment and/or enhancements of appropriate governance systems within human resources, procurement, public relations, FOI, complaints, and information technology that will support the key strategies, plans and policies for achieving the objectives of OfReg.
Christen is a graduate of the University of South Florida, with a bachelor’s degree in Finance. Since December 2011 he has been an accredited mediator with the London School of Mediation.
